We got married!

Starting off this blog with the most exciting post of the year - our own grumpy wedding! It truly was the best day of our lives, and I am forever thankful to all the vendors, family members and friends who made our dream day come true.

Not to be dramatic but it was the MOST stressful week leading up to the wedding. It hadn't stopped raining in Megalong Valley and the road to our original venue had washed out, so a family member stepped in with plan B - the gorgeous grounds of the community hall. Luckily all of our vendors and guests were fine with the change!

Our ceremony feature was created using our flower towers - can't wait to use them more! All local grown, seasonal winter flowers such as ornamental kale, stock, snapdragons, queen annes lace, cymbidium orchids, statice, Grandiflora roses, lisianthus, wattle and some special banskia foliage from our local Hawkesbury native grower, Protea Hill.

I had always envisioned having live music as a part of our wedding day. As my cousins are musicians it felt so special to have them play our wedding song as I walked down the aisle.

Inside the marquee, we set up lots of bud vases for the long guest tables and a hanging arrangement of olive and banksia foliage that was completely foam free! Marquee & furniture hire by Blueys Hire in Katoomba.

The bouquets... I had a dream of just sweet pea, which almost didn't come true! I wanted lilac, my favourite colour, and so I mixed three bunches of purple, lilac and pink together to make the perfect bridal bouquet. For my girls I made them single stem orchid bouquet and my man-of-honour had a matching orchid buttonhole.

The boys all had kangaroo paw buttonholes, combining our two favourite colours in the colour palette for the wedding flowers.

Being an artist, Jacob was inspired to make our welcome sign out of spare canvas and I was telling him that it was on trend to have a sign made out of fabric. This is completely handmade and inspired by all of our wedding stationery, which was designed by Tigera Print.

My dress was designed and made by Nicole Michelle Couture in Oakville.

I went a bit mad closer to the wedding, bought a Cricut and made all my own wedding signage. So please, let me make all your wedding signage and make use of the Cricut!
